Getting started
What is İkimiz?
An app for couples: the same question comes to both of you every day, and the answers open once you have both written. It's not a chat app or a dating app.
How do I invite my partner?
After you sign up, you get an 8-character invite code and a link. Send it over any messenger or copy the code. The code is valid for 30 days.
My invite code doesn't work. The code may have expired. Ask your partner for a new one. Enter it in capital letters with no spaces.
Can I use it on my own?
No. İkimiz works with two people. You'll stay on the waiting screen until your partner joins.
Question of the day
When does the question arrive?
At the time you picked when you set up your couple. Change it in Me › Question time; your partner is told about the change.
Why can't I see my partner's answer?
Answers stay closed until you have both written. Our server enforces this rule; no one can peek early.
I don't like the question. Can I skip it?
You can skip one question a day. A skipped question won't come back, and a new one takes its place.
Can I edit my answer?
You can edit or delete your answer until the answers open. After that, editing is closed.
What's a streak?
The number of days you have both stopped by on the same day; an answer, a note, a game or a "Thinking of you" counts. If you miss a day, a streak shield keeps it going; otherwise it starts again. We never blame anyone for a lost streak; it simply restarts the next day.
Widgets and notifications
How do I add a widget?
On iOS, touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen, tap the plus and choose İkimiz. On Android, touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen and pick İkimiz from "Widgets". The guide in the app shows you step by step.
My widget doesn't update. Notifications need to be allowed, and the app must be allowed to refresh in the background. Opening the app once also refreshes the widget.
How do I turn notifications down?
Me › Notifications. You can turn off each kind of notification separately and set quiet hours.
Coffee Cup Reading
How does the reading work?
After coffee, take photos of the inside and the saucer of both cups. The AI (Google Gemini) gives the two of you one reading together.
Is the reading real?
No. The Coffee Cup Reading is for fun; don't base decisions about your health, money or relationship on it.
What happens to my photos?
They are deleted within 24 hours after the reading is made. The text of the reading stays in your archive.
How many readings do we get a day?
Up to three a day per couple. In the free tier, you watch a short rewarded ad before each reading; with İkimiz+ there are no ads.
İkimiz+
What is İkimiz+?
No ads, 8 deep question packs, unlimited "One more question", a follow-up question made for you two after every opened answer, the Minis' full wardrobe, the full weekly summary, one streak shield a week and widget themes. The question of the day, notes, the Minis, games and memories are free for everyone.
Do we both pay?
No. İkimiz+ is a couple licence: one of you pays, both of you use it.
How do I cancel?
Manage your subscription in the store you bought it from (App Store or Google Play). After cancelling, you keep using it until the end of the period.
What happens if the paying person leaves?
The subscription stays valid until the end of the period.
Privacy and security
Who can see what we write?
Only you and your partner. No one outside your couple can see it; this is enforced at database level and tested regularly.
Does the AI read what I write?
Only for the feature you use, and only with your explicit consent. Reading photos, your How Do I Say It text, your What Should We Do choices, star signs, your partner's name for gift ideas, monthly report numbers and (with İkimiz+) the question of the day with both answers for the follow-up question go to Google Gemini and are processed in the US; your account email is never sent. We don't store what you send, and it isn't used to train models. Turn consent off in Me › Data and privacy › Consent.
How do I recognise AI output?
Every output carries the line "Made with AI · for fun". Use "Report" next to it to tell us about an inappropriate or wrong output.
Can I turn off usage data?
Yes. If you turn off Me › Data and privacy › Share usage data, no usage events are sent and error logs go without your user ID.
How do I lock the app?
Me › App lock. You can use Face ID, your fingerprint or a PIN.
Can I download my data?
Yes. Me › Data and privacy › Download my data. Your file is prepared and the download link shows up on the same page; the link and the file are deleted after 24 hours.
Account
How do I delete my account?
Me › Data and privacy › Delete account. There's a 7-day waiting period; you can change your mind during that time. More on the account deletion page.
What happens to our data if we break up?
When you end your couple, shared data is kept for 30 days and you can download it during that time. After that it's deleted for good.
I paired with the wrong person. End the pairing with Me › End couple, then create a new invite. If you need help, write to iletisim@ikimizapp.com.
Troubleshooting
The app won't open or it freezes. Close and reopen the app, then make sure you're on the latest version. If it keeps happening, write to iletisim@ikimizapp.com with your device model and what you were doing.
I'm not getting notifications. Check in your device settings that notifications are allowed for İkimiz, and that you're not inside your quiet hours in the app.
Did I lose what I wrote while offline?
No. It is sent automatically once you're back online.
